Hi Aditi,
Just to be informed, I can able to confirm that there are some patches
in debian that regressing this issue.
Can you share those patches ? Also, machine hangs at the time of
language selection or before only?
This particular patch [1] breaks the console output extremely early so that
debian-installer doesn't even show.

I have also observed that while removing this patch makes debian-installer
load, it also seems to hang during language selection. I have not figured
out yet what the reason for this hang is.

May I know which patches you have removed?
As already mentioned, it's this patch [1] that broke the framebuffer.
Also, does installer hangs at the time of language selection or before ?
The installer does not hang, there is just no video because of the framebuffer
problem. The core issue is that this change was made without properly testing
it on all affected targets which is why we're seeing the regression on PowerKVM
and PowerMac.
